Enclosed in a matching gift box, these beautiful elephant dung photo albums are as charming as they are quirky. Each one is filled with 35 pages of handmade paddy husk paper, acid-free and interleaved with tissue paper to protect and preserve your memories.
Sending as a gift? Everything we send comes in lovely recyclable packaging, with the option to add a gift note at checkout (printed on recycled, textured A6 card with our branding). As standard, the price is never printed on the packing slip.
Each album is finished with a brass elephant on the cover. As each one is crafted by hand, the design may be slightly different to the one pictured.
Our elephant dung stationery is hand crafted from recycled paper and elephant dung, meaning there can be some variation in the texture and shade of the paper covers depending on their diet. Each one is truly as unique as the elephant that helped to create it! The paper is acid-free and coloured with only natural dyes.
The paper inside this elephant dung photo album is handmade from paddy husk, a highly sustainable by-product of Sri Lanka’s rice milling industry. The high fibre and silica content produces a smooth, acid-free paper perfect for writing on with any type of pen.
Photos can be placed inside the photo album with glue, spray mount, or add a pack of our clear, self-adhesive photo corners to your order so that you’re ready to go as soon as it arrives.
Due to the handmade nature of our products each one is unique, but loveliness comes as standard.

Trickledown
Sri Lanka
Founded in 1993, Trickledown started as a manufacturer of recycled paper products. Today, they use a whole range of sustainable materials in their work, including paddy husk, banana, pineapple, and elephant dung (working with our other elephant dung producer Maximus!).
With the core value of empowering their artisans through the development and support of their crafts, the largely female team provide fairly paid opportunities to improve the lives of their workers and their communities.

Theses products are made by skilled and creative artisans using elephant dung paper from the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust.
The ultimate in recycling, elephant dung is collected and boiled to sterilise it before the paper-making process. As unique as the animal that helped to produce it, each piece of paper is different depending on the diet of the elephant.
Improving the outlook for the majestic elephants of Sri Lanka, Maximus has its workshop in the grounds of the Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF), a wonderful small charity that cares for sick, old, and disabled elephants. Working with initiatives like Maximus, the foundation is able to show the positive relationship local economies can have with these amazing animals, and work towards resolving the conflict between the elephants and the local communities as they turn to eating farmers’ crops as their natural habitat is destroyed.
