All of our leather-bound journals are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. They have been expertly crafted using a mixture of contemporary and traditional methods and the pages have been bound by hand so they are strong and perfect for travelling.
The paper used in these journals is handmade using recycled cotton (also known as khadda, kaddi or khaddi) leftover from the massive garment industry in India. It is acid-free because we only use unbleached cotton and it produces a beautiful paper, easy to write, draw or paint on. We don't recommend using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper.
The leather used is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes.
Choose from the following personalisation options in the bottom right-hand corner of the journal cover.
Horizontal text with up to 4 letters/characters. You can also add up to two additional punctuation marks/spaces if required.
Vertical text with up to 6 letters/characters. Again you can also add up to two additional punctuation marks/spaces if required. Choose up to two rows of text (each with up to 6 letters).
All options are available in either gold, silver, black or blind debossed (no colour imprint). We currently offer one font, which is shown in the images (Please note all letters are in uppercase). Please note that use of the & symbol counts as a letter.
