Mini Embossed Leather Notebook

Availability: In stock

Our beautiful Fair Trade mini embossed leather notebooks are covetable items and make for a great ideas book, inspiration book or simple notebook. The journals have been expertly hand-stitched and the leather covers age really well so they are happy to take a few knocks!

The embossing on the cover has been done with small individual handmade tools making each notebook unique. The embossed pattern might not be the same as on the image but will be just as lovely and carefully made.

Each notebook is handmade and contains 30 pages of unlined khadda paper. Khadda paper is made from recycled cotton, is acid-free and is a beautiful paper to write or draw on.

All of our leather notebooks are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. They have been expertly crafted using a mixture of contemporary and traditional methods and the pages have been bound by hand so they are strong and perfect for travelling.

The paper used in these journals is handmade using recycled cotton (also known as khadda, kaddi or khaddi) leftover from the massive garment industry in India. It is acid-free because we only use unbleached cotton and it produces a beautiful paper, easy to write, draw or paint on. We don't recommend using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper.

The leather used is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes.

Due to the handmade nature of these products colour and designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.

Fair Trade leatherBy buying this product you will be supporting the work of skilled artisans and craftspeople in Rajasthan, India.

All the products in this range are made by a small family business in Rajasthan who we have worked with for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We visit every year and we now know the producers and their families well and consider them true friends. We are proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that would have otherwise been difficult to find.

The khadda paper used in the products is handmade using recycled cotton leftover from the massive garment industry in India. The paper is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.

The leather used for the covers is a byproduct of the meat industry and is tanned using natural dyes.

We respect our producers and it is very important to us that we treat them fairly. We pay all our producers 50% upfront and send money to them whenever they need it and we never return anything, even if it’s damaged. To incentivise the staff, we have a bonus system in place.

Paper refills would be useful when the book is finished. Thanks for your constructive feedback about refills for our leather notebooks. We can't offer them at the moment because of the way the notebooks are securely bound together for strength by our artisans in India but we will bear it in mind for the future.

I received mine - it was plain instead of embossed. Sorry about this. We do offer a plain notebook in the same range so it definitely sounds like you have received the wrong item. My apologies again for this. Please know that we would have been very happy to amend this for you had we known about the issue.
