Indra A4 Stitched Emboss Stone Journal

Availability: In stock

These Fair Trade leather journals feature a combination of beautiful design techniques to create a stunning product. They make for a great diary, travel journal, inspiration book or notebook.

Each journal is handmade and contains 125 pages of unlined khadda paper. Khadda paper is made from recycled cotton, is acid-free and is a beautiful paper to write or draw on.

The embossing on the covers has been done with small individual handmade tools making each journal unique.

The semi-precious stones stitched onto these journals have been handpicked by us and may differ from the image shown as we use a mixture of Tiger’s Eye, Lapis, Labradorite and Black Onyx.

Please let us know if you would like a particular stone.

All of our leather journals are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. They have been expertly crafted using a mixture of contemporary and traditional methods and the pages have been bound by hand so they are strong and perfect for travelling.

The paper used in these journals is handmade using recycled cotton (also known as khadda, kaddi or khaddi) leftover from the massive garment industry in India. It is acid-free because we only use unbleached cotton and it produces a beautiful paper, easy to write, draw or paint on. We don't recommend using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper.

The leather used is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes.

The embossed pattern might not be the same as on the image but will be just as lovely and carefully made.

Fair Trade leatherAll the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We are incredibly proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that may have otherwise been difficult to find, and consider the producers and their families true friends.

The paper in all our journals and photo albums is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages. For more information about the sustainable materials used, take a look at the product description.
