We recommend that our rag rugs are hand washed in a cool wash.
As these rugs have been made with recycled bits of rags we cannot guarantee that they are colourfast.
Due to the handmade nature of these products, colours will slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.
Our rugs and bell totas are handmade by the Barefoot College, an inspirational non-government organisation making a great difference to communities in Rajasthan, India.
Since 1972 the Barefoot College has been providing basic services and solutions to problems in rural communities, with the objective of making them self-sufficient and sustainable. These 'Barefoot solutions' can be broadly categorised into solar energy, water, education, health care, rural handicrafts, people's action, communication, women's empowerment and wasteland development. We have seen for ourselves the incredible work the college is doing and are truly inspired by it.
The products themselves are made from rags left over from the garment industry.
You can buy these products safe in the knowledge that you are directly helping the people who have made them.

Possible discrepancies in sizes for rugs need to be a little better advertised! Other than that, I can’t fault the company |
As the rugs are handmade there will always be some slight differences from rug to rug. However, the discrepancy on this occasion was larger than one might expect. We are going to do a spot check on our latest batch and update the listing accordingly if required. |
