DHARI FAIR TRADE HANDMADE STRIPED TRINKET BOX

This beautiful wooden box has been hand made by individually inlaying every single element.

Each vibrant stripe of colour is actually in individual piece of wood that has been intricately shaped and assembled by our highly skilled artisans in India.

This level of detail and attention makes each box truly unique; no two boxes will be exactly the same. Perfect for storing your jewellery or other treasured items, this large sized box measures approximately: length 120 mm x width 120 mm x height 75 mm. The inside of the box is approximately: length 100 mm x width 100 x depth 55 mm.

Due to the handmade nature of these products designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.

All our beautiful boxes are made from mango wood, one of the most sustainable woods known to man.

Our mango wood products are all hand crafted by WFTO accredited producers in India. They are made entirely by hand using traditional skills handed down from generation to generation.

Mango trees have an extremely long life but eventually do stop bearing fruit and are replaced by younger trees. As India produces, by far, the most mangos in the world this results in a massive industry using one of the most sustainable woods known to man.

Tara Projects making a differenceThese products are made by TARA Projects (Trade Alternative Reform Action). They are a WFTO and Fair Trade Forum India organisation that we have wanted to work with for a long time. We are really pleased that we have now the opportunity to work with such dedicated people.

TATA projects began in the early 1970's with the object of creating opportunities and support for economically disadvantaged home based artisans and crafts people of Delhi and its surrounding areas. Over the years the project has extended its work into the adjoining states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

TARA project's provides services to enable the production and marketing of handicrafts following  Fair Trade principles, alongside providing education and support to empower the grass roots crafts people.

All the heart of TARA project's work is dedicated to eradicating poverty by fighting against exploitation and illiteracy of the producers and its working communities.

You can be happy that you are buying this product knowing that you are directly helping the people who have made it.
