A year has passed and man did it go by quickly! Christmas is now behind us and we are all in such awe of how fantastic it went! We were the busiest we have ever been and it is all thanks to you! We gave the elves in the North Pole a run for their money, Santa better watch out!
We are so appreciative of all our fantastic customers for not only enjoying the products we love so much but also for being patient with us while we got out the rush of orders in time for Christmas. So thank you!
Now that we are fully into the new year we are picking up where we left off and doing the important jobs of stock-taking, organising the warehouse and planning for the year ahead. We have a lot to look forward to this year and we want to keep you up to date with every new challenge, event and opportunity set out for us.
A major change to the year ahead is the Spring Fair. This time last year we were getting prepped but this year we’ve decided to extend Christmas by giving ourselves a break from the Trade Fair. Instead of showcasing at the Spring Fair, this year we will be connecting with our wholesalers directly to try and find new ways to present our products.
Not doing the fair gives us more free time to look at extending some of our most popular ranges! One thing that was very evident over the Christmas period was how popular our woollen products, recycled products and leather accessories were! You guys couldn’t get enough so we have decided to give you more! We will be extending these ranges by bringing in more socks, hats and many more exciting gifts for either yourself or loved ones.
A trip to India and Nepal is in the works within the next two months. Mark, my boss and the owner of the company, will be checking on our producers to make sure they are happy, things are running smoothly and to see new potential lines. A major part of this business is keeping a great relationship with our producers. They are fantastic people and we really do see them as family so we make sure to check-in regularly. It is also important for us to make sure that we are following Fair Trade guidelines so even though the trips may be enjoyable it is vital for Mark and Claire to make sure that all the artisans are being treated fairly and there aren’t any children working.
Fair treatment is the key to our business, be it our artisans abroad or any of us based in Lewes. We are one big family which is why we all look after each other. Being a family run business, it is important that each and every person feels a part of that and every effort is being made to accomplish this. This makes it even more exciting that we look to extend our family in the coming year and grow the team even more!
This year is going to be a big one for Paper High so we hope you stick with us on our journey. We wouldn’t be where we are today without your support and we thank you greatly for it. We hope that you have a wonderful year full of excitement and we would love to know more about it! What you are you most excited for in 2020?
