It’s all gone quite well!

It’s been nearly two weeks since we’ve moved into our new warehouse and I must say the whole move has gone quite smoothly! With a few extra pairs of hands helping out, we now have everything in. We’ve been super efficient mapping out the warehouse with where to put the stock. Our new employee Liz has gone so far as to alphabetically arrange all of our natural hats and also categorize our animal hats into natural origins! Pretty cool, eh? … maybe not so exciting for everyone else but for us here at the warehouse it’s the little things that keep us happy.

Now that everything is in one place, it’s so much easier to see what stock we sell and don’t have as well as making it easier to pick orders; it’s like warehouse heaven! The office is also up and running and we have been voting on which wall art to have up on the office wall; so far the winner is a forest landscape with a bit of sunshine peeping through the trees. As lovely as this sounds the current runner up for this choice is a wall of ‘Where’s Wally?’ which is mine and Kat’s personal favourite.  We’ll have to wait and see who the winner is.

A bonus of being in the new place is that we now have a kitchen with a fridge and a microwave and I am currently trying to find a nice sofa and coffee table to go in our new staff area. This has to be one of the best things about moving here; being able to make lunch here or have tea & biscuit breaks and not have to worry about disturbing Big Yellow’s kitchen all the time! And I’ve discovered a couple of lovely places down the river to get lunch from for when I don’t bring food in, so that’s a plus too!

We’re almost all settled in. All we are waiting for now is for some extra racking to arrive so that we have somewhere to put our large range of rugs and handmade paper. Having extended our range of rugs over the past year, we need to make a lot more space to store all of our lovely rugs.

Everything else has its place, the leather journals have a couple of bays to themselves as does the sari products and we can now find the new leather bags very easily!

As the winter months draw in it will get cold here in the warehouse but we sure will have enough woolly clothing to keep us warm. We have just had our delivery of woollen hats and socks that were delayed due to the earthquake in Nepal along with a load of Felt goodies as well. We are also looking to sell our gloves and scarves on our retail websites this winter as they go so well at festivals we thought why not!? So, watch this space for new winter warmers and our 2015 xmas gift ideas coming your way!
