Black Friday is nearly here and the sales are already rolling out. We know that times have been difficult for many this year which is why instead of running a sale, this year we’ve decided we would rather give back! We have chosen to donate 10% of all purchases made between Friday 27th of November to the Monday 30th of November to Brighton Food Bank.

As a Lewes based company we thought it is important to give back to our local community which is why we think Brighton Food Bank is a fantastic charity to work with. We are very excited to be able to do this, this year and we hope you feel the same!

Any purchase made already directly helps all of our fantastic artisans in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka but as a UK company we wanted to help those close to home as well.

More About Brighton Food Bank

Brighton Food Bank is a fantastic charity that helps families and individuals who are in times of need. They provide food as well as emotional, physical and spiritual support. They also signpost anyone in need to agencies across the city for expert advice.

Major supermarkets such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Tescos, Co-op and Asda are among the many different businesses that collect food for Brighton Food Bank as well as 58 different churches.

Brighton Food Bank also run a Fuel Aid scheme where they provide heating in the homes of carefully selected families and individuals who are struggling to be able to heat their home. In addition to this, they provide a Start Up Home Pack for those who are being housed for the first time. This consists of some essential items, such as kitchen equipment, a towel and some bedding.

They work closely with churches, schools and supermarkets to make sure the food donations are more specific to their needs.

With a 23% increase in clients in just this past year, Brighton Food Bank is working hard to find other solutions for people in crisis to help such as working with Money Advice Plus and Christians Against Poverty. They aim to work with other agencies to deliver a better service for those who come to them for help.

We work with many different Fair Trade producers that put people first and that is very important to us. We want to put people first on Black Friday and help those who have been affected by crisis.
